WAIOTAPU THERMAL WONDERLAND

Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland is a spectacular showcase of New Zealand’s most colorful and unique geothermal elements sculpted by thousands of years of geothermal activity.

HOURS

Waiotapu is open seven days a week, 8:30am - 4:30pm, with the final admission at 3pm.

Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland is a cashless site. All major credit cards and EFTPOS are accepted.

Lady Knox geyser presentation 10.15am daily, arrive by 9.45am.

Please note that they are closed on Christmas Day.

  • Pick up in Rotorua at your accommodation (Normally about 9.00am to be in time to see the Lady Knox Geyser)

  • Drive for approximately half an hour through the forest to Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland Reception

  • Purchase your tickets (not included in the price)

  • We will then drive you back to the Lady Knox Geyser Show Area and wait until the show is completed.

  • We will then drive you back to Waiotapu reception for you to commence your leisurely walk around the park.

  • The driver will return to Rotorua.

  • By arrangement the driver will either collect you at an agreed time or you may contact the driver by WhatsApp, text or phone half an hour before you wish to be collected.

  • On the return ride the driver will take you to visit the Waiotapu Mud Pools (Free) Before the mid 1920s this was a mud volcano that has now eroded to be a massive flat vigorously active bubbling mud basin. It is reputed to be the largest boiling mud pool in the southern hemisphere.

  • The driver will then return you anywhere in Rotorua of your choice.

    BACK TO HOME
